Telepsychiatry

Teletherapy

Teletherapy is providing therapy through a live video connection, over the internet. You provide the same treatment as you would in person, it’s just done through a computer! If you’ve ever used Skype on your computer or FaceTime on your iPhone, you’ve used the same type of technology teletherapy uses.

More About Teletherapy

What types of therapy can be Provide using teletherapy?
At our office, we are utilizing the technology to perform medication management and individual therapy. We hope to someday be able to provide group teletherapy and other modalities for individuals in less-served areas.
How does the teletherapy service in our office work?
There are 2 methods of receiving teleservice. Those patients who want to wait for a scheduled telesession can make an appointment. And those pts who want to be seen without an appointment will have their names placed in a cue or line. Once a therapist becomes available you will be invited to join the session. These emergency appointments generally do have a wait time, please check with office how long the approximate wait time will be for that day.

You will need a computer or smartphone, in the case of the smartphone you will need to download thedoxy.me app. With a computer you will need video and audio hardware, it is also necessary to have a high-speed internet connection.
