Alison Ward

Alison graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and from the Rutgers School of Social Work with a Masters in Social Work. Alison is a licensed social worker in both the state of New Jersey and the state of New York, and can provide services in both territories. Alison has 5 years of experience researching motivational interviewing techniques for children, the impacts of trauma on marginalized youth, and women’s public health measures in collaboration with the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Outside of her research endeavors, Alison has experience in the managed care world as a Case Manager, providing anxiety and depression management techniques with the members that she served on a continuing basis.

 

Alison specializes in working with children, adolescents and adults using cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, motivational interviewing, and play therapy. Alison works with clients with an individualized approach to address their specific needs and help their clients gain a sense of empowerment over their own mental health. Alison strives to create a safe, comfortable, non-judgmental environment for her clients to both identify their strengths and work on their struggles.

 

Alison recognizes the courage it takes to ask for help for your mental health, and is looking forward to hopefully working with you as a client!
