Christopher McCarthy

New York and New Jersey Licensed Psychotherapist Christopher McCarthy has been working therapeutically with adults, the LGBTQIA community, adolescents, children, couples, and families for the past 6 years. Christopher found that helping others achieve their goals, improve the quality of their lives, and find solutions is his true passion in life. Christopher will always work at your pace and ensure you feel completely comfortable.

Christopher holds a Masters in Clinical Psychology from the New School and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University in New York. Living in the New York area most of his life helped to develop a person that is ready and capable of tackling any situations or events.

Christopher is a licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York and New Jersey and a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor in New York. Christopher is certified and trained in several additional treatment modalities including CBT, EMDR, DBT, psychoanalysis, humanistic, ACT, and supportive counseling. Christopher’s theoretical orientation is cognitive behavioral therapy. However, Christopher tailors psychotherapy to the individual and will decide which treatment modality to use after the initial visit.

Christopher, along with his partner-dentist Jesse Small, value spending time with their friends and family, engaging in meaningful activities, and traveling the world (when they can).
