Erica Rasmussen, LSW

Erica has been collaborating with adults and adolescents for several years in inpatient and outpatient therapeutic settings. She weaves in holistic modalities and creative approaches to target areas such as anxiety, depression, substance use, and trauma.

Erica is a musician and writer who often uses creative therapies and right-brain activities to access hidden thought processes and emotions. Some forms include journaling, stream of consciousness, abstract drawing, and music-based meditation visualization. Since trauma is stored throughout the body – exploring these alternative approaches can serve as a helpful addition to emotionally charged content from physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse.

Erica is interested in teaching both CBT and DBT where clients can become aware of their thoughts, challenge their distortions, and track the negative belief systems in which they came from. DBT was created by Marsha Linehan as a form of therapy inspired by Buddhism. Individuals develop a skill-set that mimics the effects of meditation by learning presence and self-soothing.

Erica creates a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate atmosphere where an individual can tap into the essence of who they truly are, align with their fullest potential, and authentically express it.
