Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

The most evident benefit of individual therapy session is for the client to receive the sole attention of the therapist. This results in a custom fit focused and intense treatment to the client. There are many different reasons that you might want to start seeing a therapist – to deal with past trauma, anxiety, depression, cope with major life changes or to simply gain self-knowledge and awareness. Many clients that visit experience constant feelings of being overwhelmed, unhappy, have recurring problems that keep surfacing in their life or are in need of some extra support.

Is therapy right for me?
Participating in therapy can result in a number of benefits to you, including a better understanding of your personal goals and values, improved interpersonal relationships, and resolution of the specific concerns that led you to seek therapy. Working toward these benefits requires a very active effort on your part including honesty and openness to change your thoughts, feelings, and/or behaviors. Therapy is right for you if you are ready to get the most out of your life by working to solve problems, become more self-aware, and to embrace healthy changes.
Do I really need therapy? I can usually handle my own problems.
Seeking out therapy or a therapist isn’t really about whether you can handle your problems on your own. The therapeutic process is about getting more out of life, your relationships, and the way you experience yourself by developing tools that help you to navigate life’s difficulties. Everyone goes through challenging times. It is these challenging events that sometimes turn out to be the most rewarding when we handle them with wisdom and care. Therapy is a resource you can use to develop tools that will help you conquer these challenging hurdles.
How long will therapy take?

What exactly is Teletherapy?
Teletherapy is similar to therapy done in person. Except, it is done remotely via a Skype-like program that is secure and allows you to receive treatment from the comfort of your home. You will need to have internet connection and a video-enabled computer as well as an email address. We will also need you to sign the consent form prior to the session.
