Angeline Guzman-Acuna

Angeline Guzman-Acuna is a LCSW who graduated from Montclair State University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s in Family Sciences and Human Development. Angeline attended and graduated from Rutgers University with a Masters in Social Work in 2021. Angeline has worked in the mental health and substance abuse settings for 5 years, having worked within partial hospital, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment programs. She treats individuals experiencing ongoing symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, relational issues, familial conflict, issues with self esteem and adjustment disorders. 

 

Angeline utilizes CBT, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Treatment (ACT), and Mindfulness frameworks within her practice to assist in identifying negative cognitive distortions, potential triggers and stressors in efforts to create and establish an effective treatment plan tailored to the clients needs and agreed-upon goals. Angeline believes and recognizes the significance of mind, body, spirit and community in mental wellness. Angeline is dedicated to building her client’s ability in identifying their strengths and building a foundation collaboratively with the client. Treatment approaches include identifying and highlighting the clients strengths and unique abilities in creating a treatment plan that is both effective and sustainable. Clients are provided a safe space and offered empathy and continued support to bring their full selves in exploring their realities and strengthening healthy coping mechanisms to improve overall quality of life.
