Apeksha Desai, LCSW
Welcome! We commend you for taking the first step in your self-care. I hope our work together will help you heal the sadness, anxiety or relationship difficulties that you may be experiencing. While I recognize the importance of my extensive training and over 12+ years of experience in hospital and outpatient setting , I am equally aware of the importance of having an understanding of your personal experience in a non-judgmental and supportive way. The negative thoughts and emotions that sometimes come to your mind taint the view of yourself, others, and the world around you. The pain they cause can be difficult to cope with, as they filter your perception of the past, the present, and the future, bringing about unnecessary emotional pain and suffering.
With my professional guidance and your courage, we can bring more happiness, confidence and loving connections into your life. My therapeutic approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and insight-oriented interventions to help identify the negative beliefs that have prevented you from achieving your goals and experience greater joy.
Together we will build a caring and supportive environment to help you cope with your sufferings and learn new skills that will help you overcome the adversities that life presents. I believe every person can thrive with an individualized therapeutic plan developed to meet their specific and unique needs.
