Debbie Marek

Debra Marek, MSW, LSW, C-SSW Debra (AKA: Debbie) is a Licensed Social Worker who graduated with her master’s degree in clinical social work from Fordham University (New York, NY] in May 1996. She has 24 years’ experience as a Licensed Social Worker, with a continual focus in the field of gerontology. Working with geriatrics in the medical setting, primarily for the past 24 years, has provided Debra with a great deal of proficiency in the study of the “mind-bodyspirit” connection/belief system.
Debbie received a clinical certification in the Bowen Family System Theory, in January 2013, from Rutgers University, School of Social Work. The Bowen systems theory approach is designed to guide in the understanding of emotional symptoms, physical symptoms, and human behavior; to assist clinicians in assessing and working with individuals, couples, and families.

Debbie’s preferred behavioral approach is utilizing CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). “Utilizing CBT allows my clients and their families to replace self-defeating behaviors for new/healthy ones”. She is most comfortable working within the adult and geriatric population(s), and welcomes client’s and families deal with a variety of behavioral disorders and conditions associated. Being new to Hamilton Behavioral health care system, she aspires to embark on this journey with a favorable presence.
