Catherine Kim, PMHNP
Catherine Kim is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with years of clinical experience working with clients who possess various mental health and behavioral challenges. She is board certified to treat children, adolescents, and adults in New Jersey and New York. Catherine first acquired an interest in psychology, counseling, and the human mind during her youth. After attaining a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Rutgers University in 2008, she soon realized that her passion in nursing was in treating the mental health of individuals. Thereafter, Catherine began to work in the inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment settings as well as in crisis intervention services. With a desire to better serve clients in need of mental health services, she furthered her education and obtained a Masters of Science in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practitioner specialty at Hunter Bellevue School of Nursing.
Catherine has received training to treat various mental health conditions with a focus on depression, mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD. Recognizing that every client has unique goals and needs, Catherine utilizes a treatment approach that is nonjudgmental, holistic, individualized, and client-centered. She works to build and maintain strong therapeutic alliances with her clients and acts as their advocate. Her dedication to mental health extends beyond the workplace as she has provided mental health education at community health fairs and has organized outreach events for children living in residential treatment homes.
